A Corny Christmas

We spent Christmas day at Me Maw and Paw Paw's house. Me Maw made a yummy lunch and then we opened the gifts. This was such a fun year to watch Eli. He was SO excited!!!! He sure got spoiled this year, too, but it was lots of fun!

Saturday Sledding

On Saturday we got about 2 to 3 inches of snow and, of course, that meant time to go sledding! We bundled Eli up and Scott took Eli out. Eli had a blast and Scott sure got a work out. Even though Eli got "flipped over" a few times he loved it!

Visiting Santa

Tonight we took the boys to visit Santa at the mall. Eli was so excited and he had a long list to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas. When Santa asked him what he wanted Eli mentioned a white jeep (we saw it at Sam's the night before) and said "that was it". I was so shocked that he didn't mention any of the other items! It was so cute! Eli also asked Santa a bunch of questions before the pictures. He was very concerned on where Rudolph was and where Santa's car was? Santa handled the questions well explaining that Rudolph was on the roof with his sleigh waiting for him to be done visiting with the kids.

We then got a picture of the boys with Santa. We were so happy that we got a picture with Jayce's eyes open! And Eli smiled so good for the pictures, too! So proud of my handsome boys!

Chi-Town with Family

This year we decided to celebrate Christmas with my side of the family by going away together. We stayed at an indoor waterpark in Chicago for the weekend. The kids had so much fun swimming, playing in the water and going down the slides. Eli even went down both of the big slides by himself.....he has no fear! Eli loved playing with his cousins, too. It was the perfect place to stay.

On Saturday we went to Legoland. What a cool place! We all had a great time learning how legos are made, building with Legos and seeing all the amazing things made with Legos. It was unbelievable what they've built! They even had downtown Chicago built all out of Legos! We definitely need to go back there again!

Thank you to Grandpa & Grandma Joey, Aunt Keli & Uncle Pablo and all the cousins for a wonderful weekend! We love you! Also, have a safe and fun holiday in Mexico, Rodriguez's!!! We'll miss you!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

We've had our Christmas tree up for over a week, but last night we finally decorated it and put things around the house. Eli loved putting ornaments on the tree. His favorite thing was finding the ones that were the same and putting them all on the same branch....think he fit about 10 on there. So fun to see the joy of Christmas in Eli's eyes!

Thanksgiving 2009

This year we went to Grandma and Paw Paw's house on Thanksgiving day. Two of Grandma's sisters were there with their families and also Great-Grandma Gibson. It was so nice to get together with them all. Of course, Eli and Jayce got a lot of attention being the only 2 children there.

On Friday we headed to Grandpa and Grandma Joey's house to celebrate Thanksgiving with them. Keli & Pablo and the cousins were all there, too. Eli had a great time playing with his cousins. The boys spent most of their time in the basement playing with all the legos. It was fun getting Santiago and Jayce together for the first time, too.

Thanks to all the grandparents for having us at their homes to celebrate this year! Love you all!

A New Tradition

This Thanksgiving we started a new tradition.....Eli and I made Rice Krispie Treats! Eli helped Mommy by measuring the marshmallows. As you can see from the picture, he was eating the marshmallows more then he was actually helping. The treats turned out yummy and it was a great family evening! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

The Elkhart Truth

Scott was in the Elkhart Truth last week! He was in a coffee shop in Goshen, The Electric Brew, waiting for a friend for lunch when they took his picture. And, of course, he was on his phone!

Welcome to Jayce Allen Coryn!

Baby Jayce Allen Coryn was born on November 6th at 2:00pm. He was 7 lbs. 12 oz. and 19 in. long. He has been such a good baby! We are so very blessed with our two beautiful sons!

Daddy's Birthday at Logan's (Twice)

November 4th was Scott's birthday. We wanted to celebrate beforehand in case the baby came early. Last Monday night we met Grandpa & Grandma Joey, Aunt Keli and Uncle Pablo, and all of the cousins at Logan's Steakhouse. We love that place....very kid friendly, reasonable prices, great food and peanuts!!! It was a fun evening with the family!

Then, Wednesday night we celebrated Scott's birthday with Paw Paw, Grandma, Uncle Shawn & Uncle Casey at Logan's again! Eli was in heaven getting to go there twice in one week!

Happy Birthday, Daddy! We love you!

Halloween 2009

Halloween was such fun this year! Eli was going to dress as Mickey Mouse, but the weather was so cold and the Mickey outfit was so thin, so luckily Eli was able to borrow his friend Drew's monkey Halloween costume. He looked so cute & he loved the banana that was hanging out of the pocket. Thank you Krauses for your help!

This year Eli trick-or-treated with his buddy, Cole. Cole was dressed as a UPS man....adorable! He had a UPS box to collect his candy.

We bundled the boys up in a blanket and walked them around in a wagon. The weather was chilly, but the boys had a blast running up to houses and getting candy.

After trick-or-treating, Eli and I headed to Grandpa and Grandma Joey's house. Eli enjoyed showing off his costume. And he loved getting a little snack there, too.

We returned home to have Grandma here. Eli was excited to eat and get to play with her while Scott and I watched the ND game. It was definitely a fun filled night!

Birthday Boy & Best Buy

Friday was Uncle Casey's 27th birthday! We headed that evening to one of his favorite places to eat, Famous Dave's. Of course, we had to tell them it was his birthday....even though he hates being embarrassed....but it was fun to watch! Happy Birthday, Uncle Casey!

After dinner we headed to Best Buy. (Wonder who HAD to go there?....Daddy!) While Daddy looked around at TVs, Eli had fun playing Rock Band. He actually does pretty well holding a beat with the drums, but I think his favorite was playing the guitar. Maybe I'll have to sign him up for lessons soon.

Eli's New Bedroom

Tonight Eli's new bunk bed and dresser finally came in! Uncle Shawn and Uncle Casey came over to help Daddy put it all together and move Eli's old furniture into the baby's room. Eli is so excited about his new furniture. He loves climbing up to the top bunk and had a blast arranging all his "babies" on his shelves. I took a little longer tonight for Eli to actually stay in bed at night time, but I think the excitement will eventually wear off. Daddy gave him his flashlight to hold and that seemed to help. It's so nice to see the baby's room furnished, too. It won't be much longer!

Sunday Night at the Coryn's

Sunday nights at our house usually consist of a football game and Legos. Eli loves to play with Legos....and so does Daddy. I think they could both do this for hours.

This is what Eli's bed normally looks like at night. He likes to have all his "babies" in the bed with him. Plus, when I go in to check on him, he usually has added a few toys to the mix. So cute!

It's Going to be a Good Night!

This is one of Eli's favorite songs right now. Love this video....just makes you feel good! I think we've watched it about 10 times now...or more! Enjoy!

In Memory of My Mother

6 years ago today my mother went to be with Jesus. She was an amazing Christian woman and was loved very much. Remembering her always. This song became popular before she passed and I had the chance to play it for her....definitely has special meaning to me. Love you, Mom.

Football Fun for the March of Dimes

Eli was invited to get some professional pictures taken with Cole for the March of Dimes. The MOD has an event coming up in November that focusses on children and what they'd like to be when they grow up. Eli and Cole got to be football players. Cole wore his Purdue jersey and Eli wore his Notre Dame one. They were so cute running up and down the field at Concord High School. It was a chilly morning, but they still had a blast and did really well for the photographer. Thanks Lindsay and Cole for allowing us to be part of this photo shoot! Love that it's for such a great cause, too!
