A Morning at the Park

On Friday morning, Eli and I met Lori Carter and her son Braydon at OxBow Park. The boys loved playing on the playground. The large slide was definitely a favorite. It took Braydon quite a while to warm up to it, but once he did, you couldn't get him off! Eli's friend Drew was also there with his grandma, so Eli had lots of fun with two of his buddies. After a while we headed over to a picnic table for a picnic lunch. We then took a walk along some trails. We found an area close to the river where the boys loved picking up rocks and throwing them into the water. I think they did this for over 30 minutes, so Lori and I actually got to have an adult conversation. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! It was a perfect day for the park!

That Broken Church

Eli is absolutely fixated on this church nearby that is falling down. Every time we're driving around he asks about "that broken church" and to "go see it". We have to drive by it almost every day just to get him to stop asking. Yesterday, I decided to stop and take some pictures of it so Eli could look at it any time he wanted to. Luckily I did because when I was taking pictures I spoke to the man who bought it, and on Monday the church will be taken down. Eli will be so disappointed that it won't be there anymore.

Wakarusa Maple Festival

We went to the Wakarusa Maple Festival last weekend with Paw Paw and Grandma. This was our first time going, so we weren't sure what to expect. They had lots of kiddie rides, which Eli loved! I think Eli rode on almost every one. I was quite surprised because the airplanes went really fast and the ferris wheel was pretty high....I was a little freaked out since I don't like heights. Eli also got to ride on a real camal and a pony. After we walked around and got some yummy food, we watched 4 and 20 Elders. They are a good band from our area. One of the band members, Bryan Chris, was in the band Leo's Crush with me. So fun to see them. Eli enjoyed dancing to their music. It was such a fun evening!

Our News

We have some wonderful news to share with everyone...We are expecting our 2nd child!!! It's still fairly early...I'm only 10 weeks, so that makes me due in November. We are so excited about our news! Whoo Hoo!!!! Eli has been so funny. He likes to pat my belly, then he pats his belly and says "baby in there". He's even mentioned that I ate the baby, so that's why it's in my belly. So funny! I know he'll be a wonderful big brother!

Visiting the Krause Family

Yesterday, Eli & I headed over to the Krause household. Eli was so excited to play with Drew and I couldn't wait to see those babies and have some adult conversation with Laura. Laura really made it look easy. She had everything under control and had a great routine going. Eli and Drew did pretty well, too. It was hard for them to watch their noise levels, but overall they did great. Eli was so cute with the girls. He would talk to them in a high baby voice and gave them lots of kisses....Adorable!

The Krause Twins

Here are a few pictures of those beautiful Krause twin girls, Abigail & Elisabeth. Drew looks like he really loves his little sisters. Thanks, Laura, for sending the pictures. Can't wait to see them again! Hope all is going well!

Happy Easter!

This year was such a fun Easter! Eli really was into the activities of the holiday. We started the day with a scavenger hunt for Eli to find his Easter basket. He loved doing this! He'd get so excited each time he'd find a clue. Even after he found the basket, he wanted to continue the "game".

We went to Grandma and Paw Paw's house for lunch. Eli got to have another Easter egg hunt in their yard. The eggs were filled with candy & money, which Eli loved! (He's really into counting coins now). Grandma had a Easter basket full of goodies for Eli when we got inside. Eli loved the Elmo basket!

It was such a wonderful Easter! Hope everyone had a nice holiday with their family and friends!

Easter Saturday

Saturday was a busy day in the Coryn home. We started the day with a yummy pancake breakfast (made by Daddy). Then, Eli and Daddy went to the Lowe's Kid's Clinic to build a bird house. When they returned, Eli got to do an Easter egg hunt. Eli loved finding all the Easter eggs and, of course, eating the candy that was inside them.

That evening we went to dinner with Grandma and Paw Paw, then to the Easter service at church. Eli looked so handsome dressed in his nice outfit. It made him look so grown up. You barely even noticed his shiner.

Coloring Easter Eggs

This was the first year that Eli got to color Easter eggs. He loved it! Grandma and Paw Paw also got to join us for this event. Eli was so proud of his eggs & did a great job not getting too messy. So fun!

Nashville 2009

On Friday morning Aunt Keli, Cousin Marcelino, Eli and I headed to Nashville, TN to visit Kiki, Popsi, David, Dana, Cousin Abi, Cousin Nate and Keaton. We had such a wonderful time!

On Saturday we spent most of the day relaxing and hanging out with Kiki (Karen). (Karen has a broken ankle, so she had to stay in a chair the whole time we were there.) We went for a walk in the afternoon with Cousin Abi and Keaton. Eli loved running around the gazabo, walking over the bridges and playing with Keaton & Marcel. It was such a beautiful day! That evening we met Nate, David and Dana for a yummy Mexican dinner.

On Sunday we went to David and Dana's church. They had a special program for Palm Sunday. We then had a delicious meal at Kiki and Popsi's house and hung out the rest of the day. Eli got the opportunity to see Popsi's work room. Popsi makes beautiful bowls out of wood. He let Eli practice with a hammer and drill. Eli loved it!!!!

On Monday the weather became very cold (they even got some snow!) We went to lunch with David and Dana, then headed to the mall for some shopping. He got to see the Easter Bunny! That evening we got a pizza and stayed with David and Dana. This was the night that Eli had some problems. Dana and I headed to pick up the pizzas, and when we returned to the house, we saw that Eli had had a bad accident. He tripped on the rug and fell into the coffee table. It hit his nose. Luckily, it wasn't bleeding much and he'd let us touch it, but it caused his nose and eye to become black and blue. Later that evening, he scratched his back on a chair, then fell again while holding a puzzle and hit his nose again and scratched his chin. Poor little guy....he looks like he was in a fight! Broke my heart!

On Tuesday Eli and I headed to Knoxville to visit my friend Krista Freshour and her kids. Eli had so much fun playing with Luke, Ellie and Abby. It was so nice to chat with Krista, too. Miss her greatly.

Wednesday we were heading back to Indiana. We had breakfast with Cousin Abi and got to see her cute house before we left. Wish we could have stayed longer, but it was so nice to get to spend some time with everyone. We love you and miss you! Hope we can get together again soon! Thanks for everything!

Flowers and Fire Trucks

Last Saturday, Eli had a busy morning. We started the morning by going to the Lowe's Kid's Clinic. This week they made a flower rain gauge. Paw Paw and Grandma were even able to join us to watch Eli work. Afterward, Mommy and Daddy were going to visit the Krause's at the hospital, so Paw Paw and Grandma took Eli.

Later, when we picked up Eli, we heard the great story of their morning adventure. On the way home from Lowe's, they stopped at the fire department. Eli was able to sit on a fire truck and get a tour. They even gave Eli an activity book, crayons, and a coloring book. Eli was so excited to share his story. Thankfully, Grandma took some pictures for me to share.
