New 'Do

Eli got a new haircut today. Lookin' cool!

So sleepy

Scott just purchased a sleeping bag for his hiking trip in May. He had to get it out to make sure he fit inside and to see how comfortable it was. Well, it didn't take very long until Eli decided it was his sleeping bag. He liked pretending he was asleep, then yelling, "I wake up!" He then stayed in the sleeping bag for almost an hour, just laying there watching TV. Of course, Elmo had to join him. How adorable!

Potty Time With Elmo

For Christmas Eli got the video "Elmo's Potty Time", which he loves to watch over and over. Tonight, he found his Tickle Me Elmo in his toy box, and came out of his room saying, "Elmo and Eli go potty." So, we took Eli & Elmo to the bathroom. First, Elmo sat on the potty while Eli talked to him saying, "Good Job, Elmo." Next, Eli sat on the potty. Eli wanted books for Elmo and him to read while they went potty. I think Eli sat there for over 10 minutes! Finally, Eli yelled, "Mommy, I'm done!" Scott and I both went in there....no poopie, but Eli did go pee pee!!!! Yippee! Eli & Elmo were rewarded afterward with an M&M. Eli said Elmo doesn't like them, so he ate Elmo's too. So cute! Potty training...here we come!

Full of Fun Friday

We started our day by meeting Lindsay & Cole Good at the Dunlap Library. Cole & Eli picked out some books to bring home and some videos to watch. We then headed to the Farmer's Market. The snowy roads made it a little difficult, but we made it okay. We ate lunch there, spent time walking around, and Cole & Eli loved playing with the puzzles and wood toys. We'll definitely need to go back again.

After a nap, Daddy & Eli headed out to play in the snow. It was a little difficult to sled, but he had fun sliding down his slide and landing in the snow. When they came inside, Eli had snow everywhere...in his boots, in his mittens, etc. Brrr!!! We started a fire in the fireplace and Eli warmed up with some hot chocolate. Yum!

We ended our evening with watching one of his movies from the library, "Finding Nemo", and eating popcorn. Eli was a bit distracted during the the movie, but he seemed to really like it. And he especially liked the popcorn!

Shakin' It Up With Grandpa & Grandma Joey

Wednesday night we had a nice evening with Grandpa & Grandma Joey. We met them for dinner at Columbo's, then headed back to their house so Eli could play. Grandpa got a milkshake maker for Christmas, so we had to try one. Eli enjoyed watching Grandpa put in the ingredients, then watched the machine mix it up. Boy, were those milkshakes good!

Grandpa & Grandma Joey head to Florida this weekend. Hope you have a wonderful and safe trip! We love you! Please send some sunshine back to Indiana ASAP!!!

911...Eli to the Rescue!

Tonight Daddy & Eli had fun playing legos. They put together a firetruck and firestation. As they were doing this, I remembered that Eli got a firefighter outfit for Christmas from Uncle Pablo & Aunt Keli. I called Eli into his room and dressed him up. He came out of his room yelling "Surprise!" to Daddy, then began making his firetruck sounds. Daddy had to get pictures of Eli all dressed up. Eli loved blowing the whistle and using the plastic axe that also came with his outfit...that was taken away pretty quickly. Firefighting is just a little too dangerous for Eli (and our house) right now.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! We had a nice evening bringing in the New Year with Scott, Micki and Gracie Kidder. We enjoyed the evening by playing Wii games, then playing Catch Phrase: Music Edition...Micki and I were the champions!!! Gracie & Eli had a great time playing together, too. They had fun playing with all of Eli's Christmas toys. Around 11:00, we knew that Eli had about enough when he started getting a little hyper & clumsy, and eventually crashed into Gracie. Through the tears, Eli said his "good-nights" as he headed off to bed. Gracie actually hung out with us to watch the ball drop (what a trooper!), but you could tell she was pretty exhausted, too.
Thanks for coming over and spending time with us! We love you guys! Happy 2009!!!
