Last Saturday night we celebrated my birthday! Scott called some of our friends to join us for dinner at SoHo. We had never been there, but had heard great things about it. It was wonderful! We had such a great time with everyone! I'm so thankful for such great friends! Thanks to all who joined us!
Last week we got to spend some time with Grandma Joey. While Grandpa was away, Eli, Jayce and I went over to their house. We brought Eli's bike and had a nice walk/ride around the neighborhood. It was a beautiful day! Eli was so excited when Grandma Joey pulled a kite out of her pocket! Eli had never flown a kite and it was the perfect day to do it....sunny, but windy. After our walk/ride we went back to the house for a yummy lunch.
Thank you, Joey, for letting us come over and spend time with you! As always, we had a great time!
Indoor soccer is finally over. Eli really had a great time! At first, he struggled with being interested in the games. He'd much rather follow the lines on the floor or chase the other kids around. But by the end of the season he was actually chasing the ball and trying to kick it into the net. He really enjoyed going and getting to be with other kids.
Last week was the final practice, game and awards. Eli was so proud to receive his award. Outdoor soccer begins soon, and I know he's excited!!!
Jayce is now 4 months old! Can't believe how fast it went! Recently, he has begun to giggle, loves to squeal, watches his big brother intently and has found his hands. It's hard to get pictures of him now without his hands in his mouth. So cute!
Last week the YMCA 3 year old indoor soccer clinic was featured in the Elkhart Truth. Click on the link below and check it out. Take a look at the pictures and be sure to watch the video. I'm sure you'll see some familiar faces!
On one of our last days of the trip it actually snowed in Texas! It was hilarious listening to the news, listening to the cancellations and watching the people who lived there! I think they only got about 1 inch, but it was such a big deal for them....hadn't happened in over 5 years! My cousin even went sledding with some of his friends! Can this be done in this small amount of snow????!!! Many snowmen were even being made!...don't know how, but it can be done.
Our last night in Texas we stayed at a hotel. Wanted a hotel with an inside pool (a little too chilly to swim outside), but most hotels don't have them there. We finally found one and Eli really enjoy swimming. Jayce even got into the pool!...it was his first time. We had such a wonderful time in Texas! Thank you Ty, Rebecca, Christian and Nana for sharing your home with us. We love you!
Our final destination in Texas was to Georgetown (a suburb of Austin). My Aunt Rebecca, Uncle Ty, Cousin Christian and Nana all live there. We had so much fun with them!
Our first evening we got to celebrate Christian's birthday! Can't believe how grown up he is now! He'll be in college next year!!! Time goes so fast! The next day we got a tour around Austin. Uncle Ty took us to see some of the hot spots and the University of Texas. Austin is such a cool city!
That evening we went to a real Texas dance hall! It was one of Christian's best friend's birthday, too, so the boys chose to celebrate at this dance hall. It was so much fun! Eli LOVED it!!! We couldn't get him off the dance floor! So cute!
On our last day in San Antonio we took Eli that afternoon to the San Antonio Children's Museum. The museum was having a special afternoon. They normally close at 4:00, but this day they were open from 4:00 to 7:00 and kids were free! This museum was awesome! Eli loved pretending he was a pilot in a plane, pretending to grocery shop, playing in the water and many, many other things. I think his favorite was driving the Bobcat and picking up and dumping rocks. Pretty cool!
We just returned from our family vacation to Texas. We had so much fun spending a few days in San Antonio, then heading to Georgetown (a suburb of Austin) to visit my Aunt Rebecca, Uncle Ty, Cousin Christian and Nana. We have so many pictures that I'd like to share so I'll need to do a few posts to show them.
When we got to San Antonio we first ate at the Rainforest Cafe (Eli had never been to one). The food was okay, but Eli loved looking at all the animals and was especially excited to find a rainbow. We then walked around the River Walk and mall all afternoon before eating at Joe's Crab Shack (one of our favorite places) that evening.
The next day we spent visiting the Alamo. We then took the river boat tour of the River Walk. Eli loved it & the boat driver loved joking around with Eli. He asked Eli how old he was, then asked when he would turn four, and Eli answered, "After I'm 3." It was priceless.
Here is the real team picture taken by the professional. Turned out pretty good! It's a little blurry due to Scott taking a picture of the actual picture.
Welcome to our blog! In 2006 I decided to quit my job as a 3rd grade teacher to become a full time stay-at-home mom. This fall I am heading back to work as a preschool teacher at my son's preschool! I am so excited to be teaching a 4/5 year old class 3 days a week! My husband, Scott, is employed at a local company in Bristol, IN and sells fabric and vinyl to the RV and marine industries. We are proud parents of a 4 year old little boy, Elijah (Eli), and in November 2009 we added another little boy to our family, Jayce. Being a mother is my greatest joy! I've really enjoyed documenting the many things that happen in our lives. Come back often for updates!
